Resigning RFAs and adding Donato

Created by: BCAPP
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 5, 2020
Published: Oct. 5, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Has Dahlen shown any interest in coming over? He'd be good

This organization has declined a lot....

They have some cap space, and don't urgently need out of Jones/Vlasic.

They should move Burns while he still has value.

Wait for a compliance buyout hopefully for Vlasic at some point, and likely just except Jones becoming a backup and eating his contract, or retained/trade, buyout when needed.

I believe we need to trade burns soon, but we’ll see.

Either trade him at TDL or if Seattle will take Burns+Asset to take Jones I see that actually being a plausible move in the future.

Otherwise move Burns for like a 2nd+ at TDL if he is playing well.

I just doubt he’s on our team after expansion , how that happens we’ll see but burns deserves to be respected (as do all players) so Doug won’t move him unless he consents to a move (also he has waive his NTC, but Doug won’t screw him if he wants to sta)

I think burns to Edmonton/Calgary for Lucic/Neal and a real return because you're taking those ****ty contracts back. Like two seconds and Neal and Bear

Or Lucic and a first and Bennet and a second

If Neal can even retain then and flip him

This is gonna be a transitional year if anything. If they suck, Burns is probably gone at the trade deadline, along with another valuable piece (Kane maybe?). As for the goalies, they're probably gonna have Dubnyk for just a year until his contract is up, buyout Jones next offseason (it's cheaper to do it then), and then let Melnichuk/Korenar be the tandem of the future.
