Solid deal for the Flyers. They would of probably let him walk if not for the Niskanen retirement. Still a big hole in the top four that needs to be filled. Interesting to see if they go out and get a guy or put Ghost back in the top 4.

Very good deal for the Flyers, and Braun stays put. I think this is a good signing for both sides.

Unreal AAV for the Flyers.. Wow. Im sure these deals are going to be used by GMs everywhere to drive prices down.

He was projected 2.3m for 2 years by Evolving-Hockey

as soon as Niskanen retirement became a news, Braun signed to a friendly team. GJ by Philly

That's a lot less than I thought it would be, especially with Niskanen walking away. Great work, PHI!

It looks like Braun was happy there and left money on the table, just to stay in Philadelphia. Great deal.

Tough time to be a UFA haha. I can't help but think he'd have gotten $2.5M-$3M with the same term last summer.

I think owners and players are on the same page and just want the NHL (and the world, of course) to get back to normal in a year or so. It's unfortunate that players have to lose some of their market value in the process, however, I think everyone kind of understands that it's short-term.

That being said, it'll be interesting to see what happens with Hall and Pietrangelo. I still think they both sign for max term, but the AAV's will undoubtedly be lower than they might have thought they'd be.

Yeah. I think there are a number of GM's around the league thinking they would've loved this guy at less than $2M AAV. I think he just really wanted to stay in Philadelphia.

Petro yes, Hall no. Difference is that Hall's a couple of years younger. His time to get paid may well be next off-season, when there's more certainty about when the COVID issue finally dissipates. I see him going for a 1 year deal with a contender, like Colorado, Boston, or Carolina. I see Petro, in the end, either going back to St. Louis or signing with Vegas.

Steal! For a 2 year deal I would have gave him 2.2
