His projection by Evolving-Hockey was 1.66m for 3 years

He did good this year, coming out of nowhere, but it's hard to justify this contract with only 1 NHL season

Very weird contract.

Mixed bag - could be a Big Bang or big bust

Doesn't put up a whole lot of points and analytics really don't favor him. I really don't know what he did to earn this contract. Would've expected a 1- or 2-year contract at like 1,xm, this is a huge risk.

Looks like Fenton wasn't that bad after all. Fenton got Fiala... what has Guerin done?

A little pricey for a guy who had one good season as a bottom pairing defenseman

I like Soucy and thought on 3 years he would be under 3 million so looks good to me.

He is capable D man, nothing flashy.

It stinks for MN that he didn't get enough games to stay a RFA and became a UFA. It cost them an extra $1m/yr. Brodin/Soucy as MN's best d-pair last year (small sample).

He's going to Seattle after next season.

Edit. Didn't vote on this one. need a "meh" option.

He was excellent this year but after one year and a lot of expensive defencemen above him, this price is heavy. 2x2m would be solid in my eyes.

there was a lot of interest in the sauce...... but I for one would have passed on this.
But teams like his size. We'll see after next year if this is good or bad.

I guess they're hoping he's able to improve to play harder minutes.

Little expensive for your bottom pairing guy.

Weird that you think this is an overpay when you said it's a good deal for Edmundson (who is worse and make more money).

Edmunson will wear a Habs jersey so that makes him elite by default.

Hmmm. His SKATR profile indicates that he doesn't play very hard minutes. A Wild fan would probably know more about that though.

I don't think it's an atrocious signing by any means. Minnesota looks like they could have a fairly solid defensive core for a while.

He played hard minutes with Brodin and on the PK. The rest of the time he was with Hunt, and well Hunt isn't good for anything except his shot on the PP.

I like it. Soucy was great in his rookie year and can improve into a solid top-4 D. His price went up a little because he was an unexpected UFA, but we'll manage. Soucy can compete for the job Dumba leaves behind him. The greatest risk here is paying a 3rd pair guy manageable money for a manageable time.

hes a good third pairing guy and really solidifies the dcore. To bad Minny is not a competitor cause that Dcore is scary.

On Minnesota, sure. In general he is a top 4 defenseman (or high end bottom pair) who is massively underrated. Being beneath one of the best top 4s in hockey does that.

They should have kept Donato instead.

No reason to overpay a 3rd pairing Dman so he doesn't hit UFA. They must have no trust at all in their farm system.
