Asking Knights Fans-Would you do this trade

Description
I really liked Paul Stastny a couple years ago when we had him and I've seen some ACGM's where the Knights salary dump him. Just wondering if Knights fans were on board with this since I think he'd Elbe a great stopgap 2C for us (and we wouldn't have to trade Laine :-))

They definitely do, but I think Winnipeg could find better options soon. There's going to be a lot of movement.

Do you have any examples? My top 3 2C targets right now are Stastny, Stepan, and Tierney.

How married to Lowry are Jets fans? Is there a deal to be had that involves Stastny, Marchy, Lowry & ????. Not sure if Laine has his bags packed yet, but could Marshy step in as a goal scoring winger for you guys?

Make me GM and I will do it for them 😁.
I honestly think Stastny could get 50 points with Laine and Ehlers (Barring injuries). It would be a cheap way to plug the hole at 2C and you could re-sign him for cheaper if he works out. Plus we keep the core and we could still sign resign Demelo and maybe get a Dman in Free Agency too.

Ryan Strome, Dylan Strome, Anthony Cirelli, Tyler Johnson, it all just depends on how much WPG wants to spend on a 2C.

True, although unless we're getting Cirelli I would pay more than a second + some throw ins. The Strome's are kind of boom or bust and they're both RFA's, so it would depend a lot on their asking price. If they're asking for over 4.5, I probably wouldn't bite.

I mean you guys are in the negative, but you only need to resign Cousins and Stephenson. I can't see either one asking for more than 1.5. If you only sign one and then trade Holden, you're good to go.

Yet, you're paying Stastny in his mid 30's $6.5M in this situation and he's a temporary fix.

That's true. If Dylan (Strome) could be had for a second and a prospect, and signed to a deal for 4.5 (Whether it's a bridge or long term) then that would be good. Ryan Strome I would shy away from because other than this year with Panarin he's only had one season with 50 points and that was his second year with the Islanders, after that he was really just a 3C until this year. I think he'll be overvalued and he might ask for 5+ Million long term, which I wouldn't pay. Johnson I don't think waives his NTC to come here. Cirelli would be amazing, but I think Tampa will find a way to bring back him and Sergachev.
Another thing to think about is how that line would look like Defensively. Idk for sure how the Stromes and Johnson are there, but I thought they were not very good. Cirelli is a Selke candidate, so he would be fantastic.

If I'm Winnipeg, I target Cirelli or Danault. Long term fits that are good at both ends. Let Scheif play offense. I think that's the best way to go.
