I could be wrong, but I believe that Granlund will get free agent offers from other teams in the ball park of 6-7 years at $6 million-$7 million per year. Two years at $2 million I feel will not get it done.

Rangers might be able to sign Galchenyuk for 2 years at $3.5 million per year, but he might demand another year or two term. Might be better to go in this direction and move Strome to RW, so he could move back to center if Galchenyuk doesn't work out or if there's injuries to other centers. Galchenyuk could possibly find his A-game again playing on the top two lines or centering a 3rd line between Lafreniere and Kakko.

I don't think Granlund will get a deal like that, but more likely in the 3-4 years at 4-5m. It is a flat cap right now, so I don't think Granlund will get a deal north of that. Unless it is with a bad team like the Devils, Wings, Sabres or Sens.

I think you're right about Granlund, and I'm certainly a fan of the Galchenyuk reclamation project, but I don't see him getting $3.5M. I'd love to be somewhere in the $2M neighborhood, but it'll probably be more like 2.5-3M tops.

Also this defense corps is still a mismatched nightmare and I hope they can do SOMETHING to fix it before opening night. Even just getting a proper partner for Trouba would do wonders in terms of balancing things out.
