This would be a very fun team to watch. Maybe use Weber's $ and that little bit of cap space on Shattenkirk?

Even though it's a new coaching staff, I doubt Shattenkirk would want to come back. That experiment didn't work very well last time and I'm not sure we have the right partner for him this time around. He was great this past year in Tampa, hopefully he finds the right home long term.

Congratulations by the way, you guys definitely went through your fair share of heartbreaks before winning it all. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Tampa in the bubble, so much to the point that I bought a Point jersey during the CBJ series

I like it. I read somewhere that Shattenkirk invited a few Caps teammates to his wedding while he was playing in NY, so I think the players would welcome him back, even though the team got outbid for him in free agency.

Shattenkirk might just be better than Vatanen, so yes. This is a good idea.

Sending Fehervary back to Hershey could give him bigger minutes to develop more, hopefully on a top pair with alexeyev.

Point is the future captain after Stamkos and Hedman
