Although I don’t recall Julien leaving Price in goal for 9 goals against.

Pass. Even at 50% retained the Avs shouldn't go after Price. Good luck trying to extend Makar without sacrifising depth. Especially after giving Cernak 4M lol.

Flat cap world, no one is taking Price. Even then though, this isnt close to getting MTL to even consider it

Price isn't going anywhere. Avs have zero interest in him. Habs would have to retain 50% to even make it a consideration. You most definitely wouldn't get anthing of value back for him even with $2m retained.
