Leafs are losing the Anaheim trade badly. If were giving that much, id rather it be for Hamilton+, or pesce+++.

EDIT: I thought Marincin was Liljegren....

You can heap that pile of crud as high as you want, but it’s not getting you Matt Dumba!

Like this. Although I'm not sure that gets you Dumba.
Also I don;t think Spezza could be a third line guy all year. Sign someone else instead of Rodrigues. Maybe Thornton?

A pile of useless crap for Dumba? Sounds good, why not.

I mean, Bracco is an AHL:er, Johnsson is a serviceable middle-six-winger who we don't need, Dermott is a top-6 D + RFA and the 2nd rounder would be a playoff teams pick. All of the assets are something the Leafs don't need and are just happy to throw away. Wild does nothing with them. So yes, they are a pile of crap.

Dumba, on the other hand, is a right-handed top-4 D Leafs are starving for, and his ceiling is a 50-point D-man. Wild decline.

he hasn't looked fantastic since his 50 point season.

i don't disagree that this isn't a good return for minnesota, but i don't think dumba is the guy toronto should be targetting.

Kesler doesn't help you any and we don't need to get rid of him. We're happy to trade Rakell and Manson and a future third for Nylander. You can leave Kerfoot and Marincin out of this and get a third for Kerfoot from someone else.

I also think acquiring Dumba would be a mistake for the Leafs. I agree Dumba has not looked like the 50-point guy he was a couple years ago, but I believe he will bounce back next year.

I figure with the financial state the league, and world, is in right now, Anaheim would be a team wanting to shed actual dollars. Toronto would have no problem having Kesler on LTIR for two seasons.

1. Anaheim's payroll is about $10 million less than the cap total.

2. Kesler costs us $1.35 million per year.
