Description
Buffalo’s 8th overall may be in play as they need immediate help with rumours still swirling about Eichel availability, going to the Rangers.
And after a Cup win, Stamkos wouldn’t mind being closer to home in Toronto, maybe. Obviously he’d rather to stay in Tampa with a young family but he’s a proud guy, too.
Eichel and Stammer together to go against Matthews and Marner. That would be fun

8th overall plus a RS defenceman at retention like Colin Miller. That would be interesting starter for Steven Stamkos. Lightning need to have a good 10 million dollars freed to sign RFAs plus depth.

You realize that it would take so much more then that for tampa to agree to a stamkos trade. You’re looking at Cozens, 2 First and a roster player for him

8th overall would be worth almost 2 firsts going forward especially compared to this year's draft class where 2-10 separation is minimal. Miller is dirt cheap roster player that they need to replace Shats. Cozens would be tough for Buffalo to give up. I agree it would be Cozens or Mitts. And Tampa gets to dump Paquette's money. They had cheaper options. This will keep Tampa's window wide open

No that’s not true he’s 30 and injury prone I would love that return but we prolly get less

Stamkos would NEVER get a Laine return. Tampa would want one normally but his NTC and cap crunch make it impossible. The Leverage is completely with Buffalo, who's one of the few teams that could take Stamkos salary.
I actually gave up a bit more that I thought was realistic with Mitts for middle ground but there's always people that say not enough here

Buffalo doesn’t have much leverage because Tampa could always walk away but this trade is what I assume the asking price for stammer would be

Leverage is more or less arbitrary but giving up Cozens would make no sense for Buffalo.
They dont need to do that at all. I'm sure Tampa would ask but would then have to circle back to Buffalo as no one is giving up a top2 center at ELC with elite potential for Stamkos plus a lottery pick.

Anyways this is all just pie in the sky stuff for fun. 99% it doesn't happen as Gms like to say "Trades are hard"

They'll most likely just dump salary for nothing and ELC players will fill in for Tampa
