I’m sure jets fans will think that’s not even close but I do think that’s a lot closer to reasonable than 99% of ideas seen

i thought theyre looking for 2C and 2D. Don't think they're getting a better 2D and the only 2C I can think is better is Danault

also if they're getting better offers than that they would've already made a trade

When I saw the trade, I was like "jeeez, that's a lot of wingers..."

Then I realized that you drafted Byfield over Laffy. That's extremely surprising...what's the justification? If you're not interested in him, you could probably just trade down to 2 or 3 and still have either him or Stutzle...

So if you look at the Rangers roster you immediately think they need a C. now obviously Laf is the safest prospect in this draft he'll be a high caliber player for a long time. however, byfield i think has the highest potential of anybody in this draft. the reason he won't be taken prob until 3rd is bc he needs a lot of work. i don't even think that he'll be in the nhl for at least a year. and with development things can go wrong and he can end up busting.

to your point of trading down. neither the kings or the sens habe good enough assets to get the rangers to bite. rangers would want more than prospects.

So, instead of trading down 1 or 2 spots and getting something, you're not going to and you're still going to take the player that would have been available a couple of picks lower? That's an odd plan.

I like Byfield, but I'd be willing to bet that he's more than just a year away. I could be wrong, but I don't see him having a full time role until at least 2 years down the road.

it's all a little irrelevant bc the rangers aren't gonna trade for laine and we're taking laf. just a fantasy world seeing what it'd look like. but if they want byfild they should trade down i agree.

thats a horrible deal for the Jets and you would be a laughing stock if you ever took Byfield over Lafreniere

Gotcha. I would sell my soul to get Laine and a reasonably solid RD on my beloved Ducks.

I think ideally they would want a 2C and top 2 D, but that deal most likely isnt out there.
Jets will most likely have to settle for one or the other and then an up and coming version of one or the other plus pick/prosepct.
I do agree that this deal comes close,

Honestly look at this team, it looks way nicer than with Laf. It’s just my opinion tho

You're not wrong, though I think they'd be looking for a 2C for a couple of years at a minimum...that's rough when you're looking to be a contender.

Not in the same zip code for Laine

Also, if the Rangers are taking Byfield, they would be quite foolish not to trade that pick instead.
