Description

Just an idea from rumors have heard of ways Detroit can capitalize on extra cap space, doubt either will actually happen, just doing it for fun and want to see people's opinions on values for each.
Don't jump on me freaking out about it

VGK-DET-PIT trade Detroit is just the middle man in a similar way TOR was for the Lehner trade earlier this year

TBL trade is explained down below, might piss off people around the league if it happened

TBL trades signing rights to DET,
Detroit signs the two players to short term deals, say 2 years, 6 million each for example
Detroit then trades both of them back to TBL with 50% salary retention, and gain Cal Foote for the retention or a high draft pick/prospect.

Technically legal to do, nothing in the CBA against it because the players aren't under contract with TBL at the time of the initial trade.

Not sure I see why Pittsburgh would have any interest in that

I had seen that idea somewhere last year about trading/signing/trading back. Even if it's not in the CBA, would the league allow it (it doesn't need to be a CBA violation to get denied)? I'd like to think Yes, but i'm not sure.

No to matt murray the guy is not good,. He needs a good team in front of him and the wings are not that.

No chance foote is worth that much retention, tb would have to pay so much more

You forgot to send the VGK 1st over to the penguins.
Because there is no reason for us to do this at all.

Dude it's cap circumvention and yes it's illegal, First off you're still trading for players rights you can't sign them and then reduce their cap 50% both Cirelli and Sergachev would've to remain under Detroit control for one year regardless. Friedman is a freaking idiot even suggesting that Yzerman and BriseBois would do something even remotely this unethical.

I know us Wings fans like to hate on Murray but why would Pittsburgh do this. Fleury is at best the same as Murray and he’s almost 40.

1 debatable.
2 guy read the whole Pitt situation wrong. They, 99%, have to dump Murray now that they signed Jarry. Could sign Murray to ~ 4 mil and try to pass DeSmith thru waivers...
