Description
No pressure Dorion but today is kind of the most important day for the entire future of the franchise lol

A win would be Byfield+Raymond, regardless of anything else that happens. If we don’t trade down and we draft Stutzle and Sanderson that’s probably worst case scenario. Going by rumours and interviews, it sounds like the guys Ottawa is considering are limited to Stutzle or Byfield at 3, and Raymond, Sanderson, or Askarov at 5. If Raymond is gone at #4, I would prefer us to try and trade #5 down, acquire another significant asset, and take Askarov or Sanderson lower, I don’t think either should be taken at 5. In my opinion, a 2LD to play behind Chabot can be taken at 28 or 33 (O’Rourke and Wallinder are good options, Jurmo at 52 would be a solid pick as well if he’s still there), so Askarov is my preferred choice.

    Askarov is a brutal decision.

Stutzle/ Byfield is amazing no matter what.

5 is the big choice, gonna be a good moment to see what happens at 4.

Detroits gonna shape the next few picks with 4, they got a massive selection

Yeah I think Detroit’s pick will really set the tone for the direction of the draft. I wouldn’t mind Askarov in the top 10 but I don’t think he’s a top 5 pick

He’s amazing don’t get me wrong. But if you select Askarov over Raymond that’s a heartbreaking selection. It’s way to big of a gamble for the sens. Askarov in the top 6-10 is fair

Wouldnt drysdale be a good choice at 5 to give chabot a top pairing

Oh yeah this is only if Raymond goes at 4. I think Raymond is #1 on the Sens list at pick 5, Mann seems really high on him. If the Wings take him then trading down a few picks, acquiring a good asset, and taking the goalie makes sense

Drysdale is great and you can never have enough RD depth, but we already have Thomson, JBD, Brannstrom, and Zub for the right side. A RW would be best, a solid, physical, defensive 2LD (in the vein of McDonagh) is probably what the Sens are looking at as the backup option though

I’d like to see that. It would ruin my draft prediction but realistically I think if Raymond is gone at 4, you gotta think drysdale or perfetti. If you’re super high on Askarov trade down to like Minny at 9 or buff at 8

    A late 2nd won’t get Virtanen.

    I counter Demko/Virtanen/Lockwood for 5oa/33oa

Sounds pricey I know but Demko is ready & fits the teams age perfectly. He showed his worth against VGK giving up only 2 goals in 3 PO games.

I seen something today that said if Askarov is Drafted by Ottawa, that Putin would come watch his first game xD
