Flames will want more than that for Johnny. I also don't see them retaining unless it's even more adds.

Specifically to trade with Calgary, they don't have an interest in another LD. The first and Bellows might be something to work with but ideally the Flames would target Wahlstrom being a right shot RW. I am not sure NYI would want to consider a trade for Wahlstrom.

That Gaudreau trade isn't even close to accepted. Toews doesn't move the needle, nor does the late 1st round pick. Pass. Bellows was drafted in 2016, and still hasn't become a regular in the NHL.

If you're looking at Gaudreau it starts with 1st+Dobson+

Like it or not, it probably does or he just won't be traded.

In a flat cap, a player in his prime that is just shy of a point per game in his career making under 7m should be nothing short of a goldmine if traded. That means bend over because you are paying out of your ass for him.

Kinda does, you don’t get superstars for peanuts, and we’d want value over quantity, so it would have to include one of Wahlstrom or Dobson, plus a 1st, plus another piece. Also it’ll take a helluva lot more to dump Boychuck lol

Even if the Islanders manage to clear enough cap space to bring in a large contract (which they won't). They'll either use that extra space to sign Barzal long term or go after a UFA like Hoffman, Craig Smith or Toffoli. Why should they trade away their future when there's other options and they don't have to? Not to mention Gaudreu isn't what they need, they're weak on the right side (Eberle) not the left. Lee's fine where he is he's a nice presence in front of the net.

What team do you think pays something like that? Obviously one with a large prospect pool but are there any individual teams being tossed around?
