Every time I think Bergevin is on the right track, he does something like this lol

Yeah, but everytime he ends up winning the deal. Outside of the Sergachev-Drouin trade, what would you consider a lost trade?

I'm hoping this is one of those trades I come back to in 2-3 years and make fun of everybody who said it was bad for Montreal. I'm not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel

I vote fair deal. I know I’ll be in the minority here but both teams get exactly what they need. Maybe remove the 3rd round pick so it’s a 1 for 1 but still, I like this for both sides.

Oh boy, it's vodka time

Domi is great player we played with trash players and then gave him **** because he only got 44 pts. He's really going to thrive next to Dubois.

What’s happening right now is the first thing they see when they look at this trade is the lopsided poll, where they form a bad opinion. This is not a bad trade

This is also not a great trade. Domi’s 70 points may not have worn off for some teams, so I feel we could have gotten more for him. However, Anderson is exactly what we need at the moment, and i’ll be willing to overpay for that

I'm guessing that's why a 3rd was involved to clinch the deal?

From the start I've been saying this is a fair trade. This was one of my favorite ideas on the site. But habs fans kept advertising Domi as something he isn't. The most overrated player on this website has been moved for a package he is legitimately worth.

This feels great. After all those months of habs fans yelling at me for what they said was a bad take.... it warms my heart. Humble your strong personalities, MTL.

As to the deal itself - its a win win. Overrated players aside, MTL gains physical presence and a need on RW. CBJ gains a middle six center. Both are risk players. Both gain something. Domi isn't worth a hair more.

Speaking of overrated players...Josh Anderson. He's worth just the 3rd coming off a major shoulder surgery and hasn't had the numbers that Domi has.

The optics on this is, Montreal didn’t trade for Anderson, they unloaded Domi, makes me wonder if there’s some locker room issues being addressed here.

Anderson has had to deal with injuries. I am not saying this is a fair trade. Columbus clearly wins it, but this is far from the "massive fleece" everyone on here is making it out to be.

You, I like you.

People are overeacting for a swap of guys with a 15 career goals difference. And a 78th pick overall.

Subban for Weber isn't looking as terrible as when it happened. Who knows anymore.

This is what Bergevin should have looked at but instead it seems like Columbus gave him like a b**ty pic or something to make it seem fair to him.

Idk Subban for Weber was iffy. Subban did a lot more for Nashville, and Weber seemed to get injured too much.

OMG this is such a great trade.
No more Max Domi for 50 1st round picks. and Josh Anderson for a 3rd posts. We ALL win this one.

Credit where it’s due. You said Columbus should ask for kings ransom for him and it looks like they did lol. Good job

It’s been wild to see Bergevin stockpile all these picks and slowly trade them away

As a non-fan of both teams.

You're dead wrong and Bergevin got fleeced.

I'm glad you it boosted your confidence though.

3 years of Subban doing pretty decent production to Weber's 1 year of good production, and 3 more years of not being able to stay healthy for the entire season.

So, CBJ gets their 2nd line center and a 3rd in tomorrow's draft for a player who played 26 games and had 4 points last year. I hope JA gets it together because they got bent here.

Production over 4 years that you know shows P.K. Subban did a much better job in certain areas making it an illegitimate argument of Weber being worth Subban and a great trade for Montreal because well quite frankly it wasn't a good trade for them. You've been paying Weber 7.8 Million dollars to play just under 57 games an average on year. Noted we didn't play a full season last year but even if I take the previous 3 years that he has been on your teams is 54 games on average per year. A guy who can't stay healthy for a guy who was a Norris candidate and got his team to a cup final. I would take that honestly.

This is the worst trade I think I have ever seen. Cbj gets the better player and a 3rd lmfao.

Did you even watch Josh Anderson play this year?

What if I told you that his 1 goal / 4 points in 26 games doesn't tell the whole story?

Because he wasn't throwing any hits this year either. Or forechecking hard.

He was just kind of there, doing 4th liner things.

Is that exactly what you need?

Did something happen to Max Domi? This pretty much cancels out all of the nice trades Bergevin made at the TDL and then some.
