Description

The Virtanen trade was from a Canucks fan. Not sure what his contract would look like though. The trade with Tampa may need some picks involved, but it kind of makes sense for both sides. The Pens need a more offensive 3rd C and Tampa needs to be able to ice a team but badly need to save cap space. The Pens may be able to take Johnson with out retention, but Tampa would need to make it worth their while. I know Ottawa fans don't seem to want Murray, but Murray will be traded somewhere, so I just put it in there.

I think Tampa wants to trade Johnson to save cap, not because they don't like him and this move doesn't save them any money

It saves them just over $1M in cap, just over $2M if there is no retention, but the Pens would probably want some incentive to take the full cap hit.
