I don't really care. He's nothing but a placeholder for a year in there.

We got to the finals with Hanley in that same slot. And he's a LD as well.

If you want a cheap 4C and a 3rd pick for Faksa, talk to WSH? Could be Nic Dowd or Travis Boyd. Dowd's a bit better defensively, close to Faksa. Boyd has more offense--fifth on the team in points/60, and top 100 among forwards with 20 games played this year. WSH has Arizona's 3rd round pick.

I think realistically they throw in Lucas Johansen.

Howden has more potential than Boyd or Dowd. He's only 22, while Boyd's 27, Dowd's 30.

Moving Faksa is a future investment.

Going to cost more to move up 16 spots in the draft and getting JP.

Okay. Thanks. While I was waiting I think I posted Boyd, 2nd, recent first pick Lucas Johansen (missed most of last season with some kind of injury). Please don't be too offended.

I'm rarely offended on this site. I'm just a salty guy on the regular.

Honestly though, Boyd+Johansen+2nd wouldn't have been a bad offer... Just think the likelihood of winning is higher with a Howden+3rd+3rd...

I answer your question with a question - is WSH able to take Faksa without sending salary back. He's prolly costing around $3M AAV...

Ideally I wanted a 2nd+3rd. Anything more than that is a plus...

I think they should do that. Whether they can might be trickier. Just heard they signed Dillon. Don't know the cap hit yet.

Especially after this I question Caps' ability to take Faksa in...

They can find a way. I think Vrana is their top goal scorer of the future, so trying him out with a center who speaks his language and just won a Cup could be a good idea. And as good as Faksa is defensively, that's a 2nd and a 3rd is still a good deal.

Faksa didn't win a cup though...

But yeah we need to create some cap space. I'd prefer that Boyd+Johansen+2nd deal over 2nd+3rd, but the latter is also suitable.

Right. Sorry.

With all of the Caps' depth at LHD, they probably would, too, to be honest.
