Could be a nice deal. I’d say he can be a yearly 22-23 goal and 20-25 assists.

Could be nice but also a big risk if he gets re-injured

Hey buddy.

I was about to give it a try, figuring out the AAV and term for that guy.

I think 6 years is way too much though because of his shoulder injury.

I'd think they might settle for 4 years (since the Habs would probably ask him to try for 3 and he'd want 100 years

4 years @ 4?

If I'm the Habs, I really try to sell him on a 3 years @ 3.5; tell him the ball's in his court to prove his worth.

That's why I'd be worried about the 6 years figure. Think Nathan Horton, Andrew Ladd.

Yeah it’s close. Because of injury history Columbus didn’t want to sign him long term.
Looks good

On paper, I hate the deal. I said the same thing to my brother.
But apparently, he played all those games injured and THEN got surgery and will have had one year to fully recover.

I just don't like any deal over 4 years.

They traded a 72 point player for him. They already took a risk trading for him so doubt they don’t go all in on him

Can't blame them AT ALL.

Hockey experts seem to agree though, that MTL had too many C and not enough RW.
CLB had too many RW and not enough C.
Seems like a good deal for both teams.

Now... it all depends on that f*****in injury.

Aboslutely especially because he has been injured two of the past three years, missing significant time. Although the 27 goals, 47 points and 214 hits in his only full season is pretty nice! It would be a big risk to sign him long term but could also pan out very nicely.

I agree with you. They might exagerate. BUT, with the whole COVID sh*t show, players might be a bit less outrageous in their demands.
Let's hope.

He's a guy you want in the playoffs, who cares about the regular season.
But it's more than CBJ was offering, so off he goes.
Wish him luck in MTL....glad he's not in the Metro anymore.

Nobody, anywhere, says that one team got ROBBED.
It really seems like a fair deal from both sides.

Even though I feel, as a Habs fan, Domi was worth more. But positional needs... wow, for both teams, that's perfect.

FLEECED. Anderson is a hospital patient and you gave up a third to do it.

HAHAHAHA good one. The leafs suck. Yes. But were talking about the Habs. The worst counter argument one can make is completely changing the subject. Clearly you agree with me seeing as you have no counter arguments regarding the Habs. Checkmate.

well at least were in agreement that the leafs suck wink haha. But i personally think the pick should've went the other way wouldn't call it getting fleeced , but i think columbus won the trade.. Also was only talking about Andersons contract not the trade itself

I wouldn't say they were fleeced lol. The third should have gone in the opposite direction. But overall it is a decently fair deal. Although the third really means nothing to Montreal as they have plenty of those middle round picks for the next two seasons.

If he's 100% this is a steal of a contract. I'd expect at least a few 30 goal seasons. Great PKer and was really improving his playmaker before getting hurt as well. I sure hope he's completely recovered cause if he is, he's one hell of a player.

I agree. The deal will become a bust if Anderson cannot bounce back from injury.
If he heals 100% - he will have a full year to do so - and comes back to where he was before, then that deal is great.

You call it like this on pure speculation that he cannot bounce back. Pure speculation on your part. Acting as though you're a doctor that sees in the future.
Have you checked with the medical staff that know him and evaluate him?
Do you know he was about to get back in the lineup had the CBJ reached the 2nd round?

No. Pure speculation and I can guarantee you just dislike the Habs, that's all.

A more balanced mind, a more genuine comment would be this:

IF Anderson doesn't recover well from his injury = Habs lost the trade.
IF Anderson bounces back from injury = fair deal.

And what about this, if you want to be fair and balanced, and not just speaking with emotion (hating the Habs while not having examined Anderson's health and going on sheer projection):

IF Domi bounces back from a bad season, AND Anderson doesn't recover from injury = Habs got fleeced.
IF Domi doesn't bounce back from a bad season, AND Anderson does recover well from injury = Columbus got fleeced.

That is being fair and balanced, without juvenile emotions.
