I mean do you want Lapierre with 3 concussions at 18-19 years old.

With a can’t miss pick in Laffy, you gotta go big upside and take the risk. Schneider is fine but it’s a safe pick. This is more of Lias Andersson pick then a Filip Chytil pick so to speak...

I can't believe they traded up to take a RHD when they have FOUR (Trouba, Fox, DeAngelo, Lundkvist) already and didn't take Lapierre... if it weren't for Lafreniere I'd say this first round was a failure on Gorton's part

They probably don’t see one of the guys you mention as a long term piece to the puzzle. Plus Lapierre has a pretty bad concussion history (3 at 18-19 is pretty bad).

When Nils comes up in a year or two, you need more prospects behind him and that’s what Schneider is for us. Plus he looks like he could be a solid physical defenseman. Lapierre could be great, but the concussion history is worrying. (Plus that’s a pretty important thing)

I get the concussion history being an issue but we already got Lafreniere so we won the draft... why not take a risk with that second pick? I can't help but think Lapierre is going to be a stud wherever he ends up and we will be forever kicking ourselves with a d-core full of righties lol.

I think we’ll be more than fine. I just hope this means Trouba is a goner at some point cause that contract is terrible.

Agree... shedding Trouba and passing on signing ADA is the dream scenario at this point.

We’d be set. Toss in a Cirelli offer sheet and we’d be golden.

Getting Cirelli would make this hurt a lot less. I just want a 2C, that's all I'm asking for lol
