at the end of the day I think the trade up is the biggest problem. Sounds like he's gonna be a really good player even tho we are deep at RHD. But to burn a third rounder for basically no reason is the reason people aren't liking it. Sounds like he would've been there at 22 anyway

No the Devils were going to take Schneider there, Fitzgerald can say they were taking Shakir there till he’s blue in the face, he’s just saying that cause he can’t say anything else. I don’t think he’s worth trading up for, but you can do a lot worse than having 4-5 NHL caliber RHD.
