what does Winnipeg do now

Description
Perfetti not ready next year so how do you fill the 2C? UFA or RFA or trade?
UFA Koivu for 1 year to play with Laine and Ehlers to help them mature?
RFA Ryan Strome but he would want a term contract or would he be willing to sign 1 year just to play with Ehlers and Laine and then get his big payoff next year?
Trade for Stastny or Bozak as 1 year plugs.
I am going with Strome in a trade.

How to fill the two top 4 dmen? Really believe Hamonic is coming home. So 1 spot open on LD second line. Would Sergachev sign an offer sheet?

Little on LTIR is sad

Do we have to get rid of Perreault' contract? I am.

Strome's gonna get 5M minimum from arbitration, probably closer to 6M.

Why not target Cirelli over Sergachev if you want a 2C?

Cole perfetti is the future 2C now, as soon as 21-22 imo, no need to give up so much anymore

Honestly I think it’s Copp at 2C for the short term. Like there’s nothing good on the UFA market, maybe a couple of short term guys on the trade market, but not much.

I would say Copp or maybe sign a guy like Haula on a 1 year deal. I think Cole is already a 2C by 21-22, he simply thinks the game at such a higher level compared to most players

Perfetti fills the 2C in a year. Just need someone for 1 year.

Top 4 D is the concern now.

Ok so the Rangers will let him walk. Do we sign him for one year or multiyear as an UFA?

Stop assuming prospects pan out. Let him force his way up. Then you have a 2c you can trade which is an awesome asset or you can play your high end young perfetti on a great 3rd line.

I would have loved Niku months ago. Today not so much. Not that he isn't a really good prospect but the Devils overloaded at LD prospects with Ty Smith, Kevin Bahl, Nikita Okhotyuk and now Shakir Mukhamadullin and nothing at RD they are not likely to eat a contract for yet another LD. However, the Rangers really need LD prospects and have a need at center depth so they may be a better partner.

He is listed as a RD so is it still a deal?

NJD won the cup in 1995 with six LHD...don't overthink it

I think NJD accepts that deal.

This is why a Strome for a few years will work. If they both work out then Wheeler goes to the 3rd line. Expensive 3rd liner though.

I think realistically Statsny or Bozak could be targets. Keep Perreault, don’t aim for any big targets. Highest profile Dman we should target is Hamonic

I was thinking Lundell and Perfetti were not going to available but Perfetti made Chevy's pick easy. Nice avatar.

I’m so excited I’m not joking when I say I think he could be better then Scheifele for us. This guy just thinks the game at a different level

If they let him walk he's gonna get paid elsewhere. Too many teams need a 2C for him to make 3.5M.

If you did sign him I'd want a 2 year deal. One year for Perfetti in the minors and then one year for Perfetti as 3C.

Yup. But you'll have to pay him 5 mil of more
