Yotes need the cash and I took Hossa. It's probably not enough but I thought with Dermott in there who's a fringe top 4 guy already and only getting better it was close. I had Schmaltz in there before but that probably isnt enough either. It probably needs to be a higher pick from the Leafs but I don't think its crazy to suggest the Coyotes save that kind of money.

I have to agree that the coyotes trade is way off. The LTIR isn't an issue, they wouldn't retain of the best player in this trade as he is young and worth his contract. You seem to be valuing the Leafs at or above their potential ceiling and undervaluing Dvorak. Maybe try making the package for OEL and also the higher pick would go to Arizona. Leafs needs aren't more offense, it's a RHD or 2 by the way

I just don't think that trade is happening. And yes thank you, I know what the Leafs need lol.

I feel like we're somewhat complacent with that Leaf top 6 because its deadly. They need a good 2-way 3rd line center. I probably needed to put at least a 2nd or a conditional 1st in that deal for it to make more sense but the Coyotes are trying to cut cash and salary otherwise, why even consider trading their superstar and captain?

Dvorak makes 4.5m, you want them to retain 1.5m +the 3m for kerfoot and 3m for the other 2 guys. they are adding salary with this deal, not shedding it. OEL is 8.5m and they have some decent D beneath him that the can fill the void plus get a proper player/prospect in return.

What? Hossa is irrelevant.. hes literally owed 200k, thats not even a league minimum contract. Dvorak is literally their 1C and only top 6 caliber center right now. The Coyotes dont save any money here due to the retention and the need to fill the now vacant roster spot. This trade is horribly lopsided

Obviously you havent looked into the Coyotes roster at all. Dvorak isnt a 3C, he is at lowest a 2C on a good team. Rhis trade doesnt cut any spending for then and in fact does the exact opposite
