Somethings got to happen

Created by: Ghost789
Team: 2020-21 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 7, 2020
Published: Oct. 7, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Sharks don’t have trouble scoring goals. They need to get back to the structured defensive game that can create offense. Burns & Karlsson both need to step up their D game if they want to make the playoffs next season. No reason why two guys making almost 20M combined cannot do that. Maroon adds some size and grit to the lineup.. Gudas is very solid on the backend and can help alleviate tough minutes PK and 5v5 on the right side. As for Jumbo and Marleau.. it’s up in the air whether they re-sign with SJ. If not no big deal, Sharks have some young quick forwards ready to make the jump and fill in and contribute collectively. No reason this team cannot win 35+ games next season.

Don’t underestimate DW. He got a 1st for a loaner 3/4th liner Barclay Goodrow to TBL and they went on to win the Cup

a 2nd?

And yeah this too,
Sorensen gets us a 3rd at the absolute most which would be a surprise, if he gets a 4th I’m happy, if he gets a 2nd I think the other team is insane to value a 4th liner like that

Goodrow got a first because he’s actually very good, cost controlled at 975k for an extra year, and other teams wanted him/ TDL buzz.

I have Goodrow > Sorensen everyday of the year

Both Sorensen and Goodrow share similar numbers (slight edge goes to Sorenson) over the past 4-5 seasons. Both are roughly the same age and are reliable 3/4th line 200ft skaters. Sorenson does carry a little higher cap but in today’s NHL 1.5M is nothing for a guy who can help with puck possession and put up 20 points playing 3rd line minutes.

Points aren’t why Goodrow fetched a first, Goodrow brought consistency and high output in effort (which I believe Sorensen does not compare to goody). Goodrow also brought defence and PK and responsibility which all that I’ve said we’re on display on the playoffs and why us sharks fans sad Goodrow was worth arguable slightly more then the first. Sorensen is no where near Goodrow in my eyes
