Description
Laine being happy is contingent on him playing with Scheifele. The Jets are playing with fire by limiting his first line playing time. Almost every other team would give him that opportunity. I don't buy the 200 foot game arguments anymore. He has put in the effort to be a more complete player and he needs to have at least the opportunities afforded to Connor. Wheeler is more valuable to the team now as the 2C. The Jets' don't have a hole at 2C, they just have a bromance between Scheifele and Wheeler that is interfering with what is best for the team. I see the Jets adding a middle 6 guy like Haula to play up or down the line-up as required. (ie. a healthier and more capable Perreault). I believe Roslovic deserves a shot at top 6 minutes prior to expansion to see what he can truly offer. If Vesalainen can't crack the roster this year, he will fall completely off the radar. I've lined him up with countryman Haula in hopes he starts realizing the potential the Jets saw in him when he was drafted.

The future is bright in the defense in spite of the outcry for an overhaul. With Morrissey, DeMelo, Pionk and Poolman(?) as established NHLs and Heinola, Samberg, Niku, Stanley, Chisholm, Gawanke and Dahlstrom in their system, I don't view the situation as being dire. I have added a short term fix in Brodie to buy 2 years for one of the prospects to earn top 4 minutes.

Goaltending is Vezina calibre :)

Perfetti can afford to spend another season in the OHL then a season in the AHL before finding his permanent spot behind Scheifele as 2C.

$4.3M in cap space can be best used to take advantage of a team desperate to shed cap in the coming days.

I think Cole Perfetti is only 1 year away from being a 2C, whether that means he plays 1 year in Saginaw or at 3C for the Jets, he is not far AT ALL from being a real impact player in this league.

I think Montreal is the perfect fit for "Frenchie". He would quickly become a fan and media favorite. The daft pick may end up being later or even a late pick from the Jets to Montreal.

I hope you are right. The organization is painfully consistent at giving their young talent time to develop before putting them into the mix.

I disagree, there's just no space for him in MTL either on the cap or the roster.

I mean I might I might be overboard on this one, but... I seriously think Cole is the best prospect coming out of the draft the Jets have had... Yes better than 55 and 29. He makes plays all over the ice and his hockey IQ is just ridiculous. If the Jets develop him right, I don't see how he won't be a first line center.
