Description

My top 2 UFA Dman options have both re-signed with their current squads, thinning out the blueline market in that price range that the Canucks will be in. Maybe Tanev can be convinced to take a 1 year deal?

This could turn out to be an uneventful and disappointing offseason for Canucks fans. Other than dealing Virtanen for a pick in this draft I don't see a lot else happening, but I've been wrong many times before! Maybe Benning ends up overpaying to acquire OEL yet.

Ideally a RHD, but a long term replacement for Edler on the left side would be good too.

RHD. I heard the other day Ferland is "feeling good and should be ready for training camp". So that makes things even tougher to squeeze everyone in.

Yep, his health is a real question mark. Obviously if he's 100% I'd love to have him back on this roster, but it seems like he's trying to battle through some rough post-concussion symptoms for a while now. I hope he chooses what's best for his long term health.

I don’t get what his deal is. Stop focusing on OEL potential disaster and manage your own assets.

Ferland will be injured again in no time. Find him a ticket to Robidas island. Why that guy got into a fight his first game back in the RTP, I’ll never know

- Hoglander needs at least another year

- Tanev is not going to sign to a 1 year deal

- I think we could get Leivo a little cheaper, 1.5-1.7 maybe

You’re probably right about Tanev, and I hope you’re right about Leivo. Hoglander looks really good at the beginning of his SHL season, I wouldn’t be surprised if he could make the jump to the NHL next season.
