Thats really good value for the Maple Leafs.

Ended up being Kleven (not liked by public scouts) for Hiroven and Niemela.

Tons of good D available and Dubas trades down 15 selections, not a good look.

Toronto gets excellent value. Ottawa gets a player they want.

Who would you taken as the Leafs that you would want to keep the pick? Most of the top players available were all offensive players that have big defensive concerns.

TML will want Kleven in three years......Dubarelli just wanted to make it on trade board here on CapFriendly.....like he didnt have 11 Picks already....

same as they will cry after Guhle & Schneider and Amirov will get stucked in depth.....

Dubas likes drafting for value with players that slide. He obviously had a cluster of players and didn't have a clear favorite.

I'm not a fan of Dubas but this is a good trade.

I really hate this for Ottawa. There isn't a whole lot of upside there, and he has no foot speed or hockey sense. He might have an NHL career ahead of him, but bad players get drafted too. Absolutely no reason to trade up there imo.

You don't draft for immediate need.
Leafs have plenty of D prospects.

Oh god, this could have been good for the Sens, but I'm pretty sure they screwed it up hard. This has "big guy who tough but bad at hockey" written all over it. Meanwhile the Leafs got another small-ish but defensively responsible center.

The sooner Otts cans T Mann Director of Scouting the better theyll be. Get used to draft lotteries. There were 1st rd picks available when Sokolov was picked.

I knew this was a terrible trade for the sens right away. Both Hirvonen and Niemela were better at the WJC and are more valuable
