Flames sound like their taking a run at Markstrom and it sounds like Markstrom is going to market. This would be a significantly worse option.

We're basically at the point where there's only two players we'd be attempting to acquire from Toronto - Marner or Nylander. If one of those two isn't involved, then it's likely to be a no-go - we don't need More Depth Wingers and we don't need more depth centers. We're pretty much set everywhere except for that "star playmaking winger" role.

(Well, okay, Matthews would obviously also be nice but he's so far out of reach it's not really worth bringing him up.)

Freddie would be the best goalie the flames have had in a long time but even so leafs aint doing it as benett does not equal freddie by himself. Freddie is only owed 1mill thats a steal for cash strapped teams. On top of that he was producing good numbers on a team with little defense.

Trade Kerfoot. Sign Wennberg 1 year 1 mill and put Nylander on his wing

Good thing the Flames aren't cash strapped and can go get a much better option. Talbot only statistically had 2 really bad starts last year compared to Andersen's 8. I take a cheaper steady goalie compared to a 5 million dollar boom/bust for one year until he asks to be over payed.
