Overpay. High AAV and low term that takes him right to UFA

Why walk him straight to free agency? Did he have arb rights or something

This explains why MTL wanted him out. Probably a pain to negotiate with. CBJ brought him in with a fair value swap, but Domi is not worth this for two years. Maybe 5 years, but at this he should be closer to 4 than 5.

At least CBJ has the cap space...

Cant wait till Domi demands 8M in UFA....

This is exactly what all potential trade partners were worried about for Domi. A short AAV and too much money

Exactly the projection of Evolving-Hockey for a 2 year deal.

Straight to UFA because he’ll be +27 years old.

I would not have given him long term too. He had very bad playoffs and doesn’t know how to defend yet. Even with all its playing time, he still has to prove himself for a long contract.

Money's ok but that term is disappointing. Leads him to UFA.

There you go Colombus enjoy and no return policy.
Too much, not long enough, that contract screams that he's gone in two years from now and can't wait to see if any NTC.

Thanks to anyone trashing the deal yesterday, now you may understand why he was sent away and why there wasn't better offers.

why not a 1 year deal? he would still be an rfa and he'd get to prove he's actually worth this kind of money

If we can get Anderson on a reasonable long term contract, I’m feeling a lot better about this trade.

They didn’t want to walk him to UFA like this. And obviously they wanted Anderson.

Well, this is already a win for Montreal in my books. Looking forward to see what Anderson is going to sign for. That'll be the icing on the cake.

4 yrs $4 - 4.5m. hopefully.

Think Domi is banking on getting 60 points for the next two seasons so he can demand an 8 * 7 from someone.

I mean, I wouldn't be at my best either if I have to play with Belzile and Weise.

He was given his chance in the top 6 at the start of the season and blew it. Not anybody's fault but his

Seems fair for a guy that was on a 20g/50pt pace this year even though he was shuffled around the lineup. Looks great if he bounces back to the previous year's totals.
