Its not necessarily the cap hit that concerns me, I just don't like that there is 3 years left on his deal. I think he could work out really well here but if he doesn't then we are kind of screwed, because I don't think Seattle would pick him

I kind of concur. If you can get the Jackets to take on about $1 million, I think it could function well. The other thing to consider is how far away in Perfetti? Wennberg could bridge a gap, but with a lesser cap hit, may just slide in as a reall effective 3C, or a more movable asset.

Perfetti is no more then a year away only

That is my thinking. 2 max. I doubt they take the time they did with Scheifle given that gapping need on the 2nd line

That's probably doable, although there's a part of me that would want another pick in such a scenario. Wennberg, at a more sane level of compensation, is a pretty good player after all.
