      That Duclair contract is horrendous!!!!

Add that to the list of bad contracts hampering the Canucks.

$3 million max, on a short term. No consistency in his production at all..... 4 teams tried, and even Ottawa doesn't want him. OTTAWA!!!!!

      NO. Just no.

Duclair wants 5+ years at 4.5mil+, doubt he leaves the first place he's found an NHL spot and been successful for a commitment less than that

Are you for ****ing real right now? Did you even watch him play in Ottawa this year, he had good chemistry with his line mates and was one of the best players on their roster without a doubt. I’m sure Ottawa still wanted him but Melnyk and Dorion are just cheap asses. Here, with a young roster, he can actually flourish.

Well he’d get an NHL spot here, that’s for sure.

No I am not. A 40 point season doesn't add up to that contract. Look at his career dude. Worst signing you could nake for that money.

Ottawa walked away from that. OTTAWA!!! They need to hit basement, and they walked away. That says something more than Melnyk being cheap.

As for flouishing..... the Rangets, Arizona and Columbus all thought the same thing.

      Think about it.

Kevin Hayes got what? $7 million last year, and he wound up racking 41 points this season.

I am sure Philly is trilled with that.

You can try and out lipstick on a pig all you want, that contract is terrible.

Then he maybe booking a flight to Russia.

He has done nothing consistent to justify that ask.
