Well the only way they’ll be able to buy him out is if Reid Duke files for arbitration, since the first window is over.

Stasny needs to come with a nice +. Cap space is the biggest asset right now and I fully expect teams to exploit that right now.

Its pretty clear Danault is better then Domi. Add in that Domi was a bit of a problem among the coaching staff and you get why he was shipped out cheap. Not saying its a great trade, personally not a fan but that doesnt mean that Bergevin sells low on a guy that came 6th in Selke voting this year.

Agreed but let’s avoid guaranteeing the preserved value of players... especially since you guys added a third to a trade where you gave up the better player....

I think the 3rd was because of the contract. Domi was looking for the exact deal Columbus gave him most likely, one that walks him to free agency. Anderson has already said he is looking for something with term, likely because of his injuries.

In the end though I think values are gonna be off now more then ever because teams cant afford guys in the flat cap. I mean you can go get a 50 point player just because the team didnt qualify him, what that does to the market is what teams are trying to figure out.

Statsny does not go for a 2nd and a 3rd. Buyers market and Vegas is hamstrung with the flat cap. Might be 4th and a B prospect at best. Maybe a bit more if Vegas retains. But 2 high picks.,, not happening

Agreed. Vegas needs to clear space...they are desperate, no way the jets help them out and then give them a second. Jets send a 4th rounder to vegas for the whole contract, no retention
