I think you can avoid some of the UFA signings. I know they're league minimum but I think there's better replacements in house.
Stecher is a good pickup. They need to play either Dermott, Lehtonen, or Sandin on the right. Sandin will be on the roster, they can't justify sticking him back in the minors after burning an ELC year last year. I'd personally go Reilly-Dermott, Muzzin-Holl, Sandin-Stecher with Lehtonen as your spare. Fire Bogosian into the sun.
I don't hate the Brassard signing but I think you gotta try and make it work with Kerfoot as the 3C. He's no worse than Brassard will be there and doing so opens up a top six spot which would, one way or another, move Johnsson off the fourth line where he would be vastly overpaid and miscast. If you really want a cheap 3C, target Lucas Wallmark, but I think you have to shed Johnsson in that case. You can keep Brassard if you really want but I think there's better options for a 4C/4LW. Same with Simmonds, I know everyone and their mother wants him in Toronto for reasons I don't really understand at all but I can't see him taking a league minimum contract and I promise there are better options. Give Barbanov first kick at the can.
Jamkowski signing is completely uneccessary.
You won't be able to field a full 23 man roster with those changes (Sandin+Barbanov make a bit more than league min) but them's the breaks. Toronto is one of the few teams whose minor league system is in the same spot as the big team, I suggest using that to your advantage and field a better roster that's only 21 or 22 big and calling guys up as needed game-by-game from next door.
