In no way shape or form has Anderson earned that contract yet. 2x3M is what he should expect

No way Newhook is being traded for Tatar, even if Mtl retained 50% salary. Newhook is a great prospect.

He'll get minimum $4M for sure.

Looking at it from the AVS perspective, I just don’t see anyone on the Montreal roster I’d trade Newhook for , maybe Suzuki but I feel like Newhook might have similar and maybe even higher potential

The point here is that theres no room for Hall salary. Even by trading Tatar. Pretty fired up it got a raise out of Colorado fans tho.

Not even for Caulfield, Newhook has his offensive ability while being leaps and bounds better defensively than him as C. Newhook is as legit of top6 prospect the Avs have had since MacKinnon.
would they trade Caulfield for Burakovsky and a 1st? I dont think they would yet the majority of hab fans constantly over value their trade pieces. Look at what they just go back for Domi after what they proposed for months.

I think Domi’s value dropped after teams learned of his contract requests. Same thing happened to Matt Murray, we traded peanuts for him

they gave up a 3rd as well. Its a big contrast at what the returns they were proposing earlier.
Matt Murray and his arb rights is what tanked his value, that was happening no matter what. Coming off a horrible season and with Arb rights, they had a ticking timebomb in Pitts, they needed to move him and waited too long

This. Add in that Newhooks development dovetails perfectly with Kadri’s contract AND MacKs extension and arguably Newhook’s value with the Avs is only outranked by MacK and Mikko.

No what did he say

He said excited to be part of the sens (which is cliche obviously), but said hes excited to get a chance on a team whos on the upswing with a ton of talent. I mean nothing else super exciting i guess, did say he hopes to play with the sens for "years to come" which i guess is a good sign
