Hall

Created by: matt59
Team: 2020-21 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 8, 2020
Published: Oct. 8, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Murray trade modified with past feedback on his value around the league.

Sucks to lose Nash but at the cost of Hall and given how many middle/bottom six guys Columbus has it’s worth it.

Signed Hall Dubois and Gavrikov to shorter term deals to keep a majority of the team together under the cap.

The Clarkson trade had a purpose for the Leafs in protecting from Marner offer sheets. LTIR does not create cap space. It will cost you more than 1 round in the draft to dump his salary.

Jackets might as well keep Dubinsky then, saw Portzline mentioned teams had “interest” in him for LTIR a reasons but didn’t name names as to who. Wouldn’t be the first or last time Portzline said something incorrect about Dubinsky lol

This is almost correct. The clarkson contract was added to get leafs to the edge of the cap limit to set the ACSL at it’s maximum limit. If marner was not signed by the time the roster was due leafs did not have enough cap to set it where they needed it.

Now that horton (your welcome jackets) is off the books the leafs are in no hurry to go back to ltir for no good reason. They have no bad contracts to dump and would much rather accrue cap space to make TDL moves.

Why wouldn't the jackets keep dubinsky seeing as they also need cap space themselves

Makes sense, just went ahead and removed the Dubinsky trade entirely for now.

Went ahead and reverted that trade, see Jamie’s post above. Only put it in bc i saw Portzlines tweet about rumblings of teams being interested in acquiring his contract
