Yea, high taxes because of NYC, the most snow in all of North America, but it get warm enough in the winter that it mostly just the most slush mixed with salt that destroys every car you drive in the winter, the lake isn't really even nice to swim in. Their is some good lakes down south, and great parks etc.
If u can't tell I live within the area, about 2 hours east.

I get it and I don't. I lived in Rochester for five years and having the lake 20 mins away made for some excellent weekends. The taxes suck, though.

Yeah I mean I don't think high taxes are automatically bad, just when we consider where very rich ppl choose to live. I know the slushie weather very well - I live in Sweden. Of course no place is all bad, I just think if we consider the options for very high earners there's probably other area's you prefer. Or, I mean, we know that historically right
There is more to the cost of living than taxes.

So while taxes may be lower the over all cost of living is very favorable for Buffalo.
Cost of living in Buffalo is about 75% of Tampa.
To prove this point Harry Niel, Scotty Bowman, John Muckler and many more still call Buffalo home.
Harry Niel long time Leafs broadcaster, Bowman and Muckler HC and GM in many cities.
I would imagine both Bowman and Muckler have enough money to live any where they want.
As you may have guessed, I live in suburb next to Buffalo.
But I have also lived outside of NYC, Syracuse and my GF is from Rochester.
I have traveled to many countries and other large cities.
So I am not looking at Buffalo with provincial eyes.
How are going to keep them down on the farm after they have seen Buffalo. LOL
But I would not play for Buffalo as long as the Pegula's are in charge.
They are clueless and ruthless.
