Why is everyone giving Dermott $900k or less? Was this the qualifying offer? He is better then Holl, who got $2m a year

Dermott should be traded. Not because he is bad, but because the Leafs have too much of what he is.

I would not give up Kerfoot for 2019/20 Colin Miller. He was ok before, but shocking last season

I think they should trade Dermott as well, they have Reilly, Muzzin, and then Sandin/Lehtonen on the left side. They need some right shot guys on the right side and can fill out with UFAs, keep Holl on second or 3rd pair

yea his QO is like 874k and change or something on those lines. This assumes he accepts the QO on a 1 year deal. I still think he gets more. We will see what happens!

Only trade him if they get a good piece back. Otherwise may as well keep him. He can play on the right side and can be used on all 3 pairings or in the press book as depth.

I think it's crazy to trade away the needed Kerfoot, if it means just Brodie and Miller take up 8.6m in cap. I know there is this perception that all Leafs Dmen are bad and other teams are so great.
Why do so many think Thornton is leaving his home in California to play for the middling Leafs at minimum salary?

Reason why I trade Kerfoot is because he is expensive for a #3C and he is speedy and skilled and isn't great on Faceoffs. They need a cheaper, grittier guy, who has a higher faceoff percentage in that role.

As for Thornton... He wants to win a cup. Leafs will be on his short list of teams he will consider. I am sure there will be several other teams. And I bet he doesn't get more than 1m. League min is probably what he will decide to get. I am sure there are a few other teams he will consider but Leafs will be top 3 for sure.

He did not really prove to be capable on the right.

Lehtonen is probably far ahead of him at the moment. And rather trade him to a team and get something back
