Voted for ANA due to the fact we paid a 7th and a depth AHL player for Guddy. He will be missed though, played very well in ANA and with Fowler. Gotta think Manson stays out now

Well first it's a GREAT move for Anaheim because they just cleared 4 million dollars for this season and got a 5th round pick which helps for their future. It's a NICE gesture by Ottawa to bring Eric Gudbranson back to where he is from which is Ottawa itself so he is very happy and it will only cost the Senators 4 million bucks for THIS YEAR ONLY because he becomes a UFA at the end and it's no big deal either way. Ottawa needs to be Cap compliant on the lower end (which is so funny these days) and having a big huge 6'5" defensemen that doesn't mind playing 10 minutes and below a game works out great. Eric will NOT be signing another big contract in the future because one will not be offered but he is considering this a FREE paid move back home to Ottawa. I see it as a Win Win for all involved but the Business winner is truly Anaheim because of the desperately needed cap space.

I got yelled at for making a proposal where ANA dumped this guy on Detroit then flipped him to Ottawa for a discount. Seems like I wasn't that far out to lunch.

Guess they want a vet to guide the young guys. A 5th rounder is nothing

4 Million for a 3rd pairing defender. Not tendering Duclair cause he likely wants 4-5 Million tears of joy

Honestly this is a fair deal. Frees up some room for the ducks and EG can help the sens compete. Not saying playoffs but I doubt Ottawa will be in the bottom 3 next year.

Why Ottawa, you could’ve gotten his overpaid ass for a 7th, horrible trade you get a bad player on a bad contract for a pick that should’ve been a 7th

I'm sorry to see Gudbranson go. He played better than expected for us and I hope that his wishes about this trade (i.e., whether he wanted to stay or go) were considered.

They still need to put players on the ice and it’s only a 5th round pick. Settle down

They said they wanted to compete next year...

Ducks get him last year for a AHL filler and a 7th, use him for a season, then flip him for a 5th and open all $4M of his cap hit. Big win for the Ducks.

4mil cap hit 3 in actual salary bringing closer to floor without actually having to pay it all.

A prior trade for Gudbranson suggests he's worth less than a 5th round pick.
