Based on the Guddy trade today, we’ll most likely be signing Barrie or someone similar tomorrow

Could Hampus-Barrie be an effective pairing? Has Fowler-Manson worked in the past?

My thoughts, can't imagine they would trade the best shut down RD in the pacific for a guy you can't even play defense. It would almost certainly have to be around Nils

No Fowler and Manson don’t work but adding ADA makes those pairs even worse.

It does exactly. But now with Drysdale, and possibly adding an offensive RHD in free agency like Barrie, who exactly will be the shutdown guy other than Lindholm. Lindholm would play with Barrie possibly but then Drysdale would have to play with Fowler in 2 years. Play Drysdale with Lindholm and then you’d have to play someone like Barrie with Fowler

Still think Lindholm Manson will be the shutdown pair and the hope Fowler meshes with whoever they sign until Drysdale makes the jump.

Noone seems to appreciate that Hmpy is a UFA in 2 years and you could either sign AdeA to a 2 year bridge ending as an RFA or a 6 year deal at about the same cap hit.

AdeA is offensively what Lindy is defensively. Elite. A is bad defensively while H is solid offensively. No question there's a gap all told. But the cost control disparity offsets that almost entirely.

I'd rather have 6 years of a B+ asset than 2 years of an A asset especially given players often improve defensively as they mature.

If it has to be ADA, I'd want Nils and next year's first as well (or another prospect of similar value). I think Trouba plus a little for Lindholm would be a better fit for us. The pairs could then be Djoos/Curran/One of the LHD kids with Manson and then Fowler/Trouba as the top pair. This is all probably useless though because I'm assuming we're signing Barrie or Shatty tomorrow to fill the offensive RHD need.

What about Nils, Buchnevich and a 2nd for Lindholm and a minor prospect.

I don’t think Deangelo fits in Anaheim. You can def afford this trade with Schneider now in your prospect pool.

If they were blowing it up you could start negotiating around that. I'm not super familiar with Buch's numbers but I'd imagine we'd rather do Nils and more futures instead (either picks or prospects), in that scenario. Based on the Barrie/Shatty rumors it seems really unlikely we move out Lindholm or a 'core' piece. The only guy I could them moving would be Rakell because of how good his cap hit is and how attractive that might be for cap strapped teams.

Chill with those comparisons lol. You are acquiring a top defenceman and you have Fox, Trouba, Deangelo and Schneider plus Nils on the right side and you’re scared of that? You have to give to get. Lindholm is exactly what you needed to shutdown a guy like Aho

Is deangelo not good now? We just prefer to keep our 4 year younger ELC Dman

He’s the Strome of defence. Not a cup winning top 4dman imo.

Deangelo being a better defender isn't the difference between anaheim and a cup winner
