Alright... now this has shocked me, and the entire hockey world. You cannot legitimately say you saw this coming.

My opinions on Domi are known, and I still think the trade is fair. Domi is overpriced at 2 years. This is the contract domi should have had.

This could look like a steal of a contract near the middle, or it could collapse. I don't think you give a guy with an injury history this much term. Apparently it was all or nothing with anderson. I like the risk to this.

In the end, I still understand why both GMs wanted the opposite. I see why Bergevin would never give Domi the contract he got, and why Jarmo would never give Anderson this contract.

It remains a win win trade. Both teams got exactly what they wanted in the exact term they wanted. Both teams are running risks, just the complete opposite risk.

oooof

I might prefer 2 years of Domi then because there's wayyy less risk involved.

Banking on him getting back to 2018-19 form, I see. Extreme risk and I really can't say I like this. Could be another David Clarkson. At best I see this being barely market value, can't see how it could turn into a steal.

38 mil for a guy who scored 1 goal this year

Wow, that's a bit more than I was thinking. I like him as a player, but $5.5M is a lot.

I still am a big fan of Anderson and I knew he wanted long term which is why the Jackets traded him but this is a big gamble for Montreal.

I said this after the Domi contract.
Josh was not an easy contract, CBJ and MTL swapped head aches.

Josh is a good player. 5.5x7 good......not to sure about all that.

I see this contract going one of two ways. 1 he works out and stays healthy in Montreal and puts up 50-75 points. 2 he stays injury prone and never reaches his full potential and this contract ends up being bought out in a few years. I'm leaning towards the latter of the two...

Kekäläinen seriously destroyed Bergevin in that trade.

This man has scored 20 goals ONCE and scored 40 points (I'd say the bare minimum production deserving of that AAV) ONCE.

Has Bergevin lost his mind?
