That's the funniest thing I've heard all day lol. Stamkos has averaged 43 goals and 96 point over an 82 game season for the past two seasons. Stamkos is legitimately much more valuable.

Honestly this whole Stamkos underrating thing needs to chill, the guy is a very very good 1C on an absolute steal of a contract.

Honestly the whole thing with Rangers fans establishing players as "elite" after 1 season is really annoying. Fox is a great player and may become a 1D, but I'd hardly call him that until he does it consistently. The same way Shesterkin is not an elite 1A goalie after like 10 games in the NHL like I've heard before.

Yeah he really proved that after coming back with an injury in the Stanley Cup playoffs and putting up more points in two minutes then Adam Fox did in 63 minutes.

Ah yes because the signs all point to him dropping off the face of the earth and stamkos scoring 70 goals next season, no one is bailing you out with elite ELC talent

Let's call it "anyone who uses plus-minus as a rational argument knows close to nothing about sports let alone hockey"

Everything you said is true but:

1. Stammers career is pretty uncertain considering his injuries
2. Fox is NYR future 1RHD
3. This partially undoes the Rebuild we just did.

And anyone using 1 single goal to determine the value of a player in comparison to another doesn't either, its not that serious

2nd line centers don't put up an average of 43 goals and 96 points over a 2 year span.

Oh I completely agree that I wouldn't make this trade as a Rangers fan the same way I wouldn't make any trade except to get rid of Trouba and Kreider. That's because y'all are so set up it's ridiculous as long as you give out responsible contracts. But Stamkos is definitely more valuable at this point. Maybe not in two years but the trade is made now.

I used 98 which is the total number of points he had in 2018-19 and then 66 in 57 games this season. You are the one using 1 season to announce someone as a superstar 1D lol

It's hilarious how disloyal fan bases are to their superstar captain of 10 years because they got injured for one playoff run. Also, I don't know if you know this but Stamkos has a NMC so you can't get rid of him. But if you were going to break a NMC, I'd focus more on getting rid of Johnson, Gourde, Palat, or Killorn.

Also, I doubt your future captain Hedman would agree with what you are saying lol

Trust me, he is about the only supposed Lightning fan on here with this delusional line of thinking and certainly doesn't represent the majority of the fans.

I've always had a ton of respect for Stamkos. He's a very humble guy and you can tell a great leader. The guy has become underrated as hell. Like he paced for 94 points this year and had 98 the year before. How can anyone call that 2nd line forward. He also took WAY less money to stay in Tampa. He could have gotten as much and probably more than Tavares did (granted Florida taxes don't hurt).
