Johnsson certainly doesn’t suck. If he is moved a team will be pleasantly surprised. I think with the crazy amount of talent that just dropped into Ufa we might have a difficult time getting a 2nd but he’s worth more than that. In terms of wingers in the leafs he is behind only marner and nylander, and that was before kappy got traded.

Career high of 20 goals 41 points. How many 5-5 goals this season? Tough sell for north of 3mill with term.... Unwillingness to take a contract back just makes it that much more unattractive. Sending to Edmonton who has its own cap issues and already has an overpaid 3rd line lw who just managed to nearly match Johnsson career goal scoring year before spending second half the season with a busted foot.

Johnsson was just injured last season. Hard to get much going when you are coming back from an injury. He also was on the top line. (They keep him with nylander, they have great chemistry)

This is why nhl teams have scouts not hockey db...,

Just because he has played in the top six doesn’t make him a good choice as one. In Edmonton I certainly see no reason to suggest him in that role if not in that role then paying almost 10 million for bottom six lw spots. Not a smart use of money. I don’t see it as a wise fit for Edmonton maybe another team can afford to take that chance. I’d rather explore ufa market myself.

Yup, totally entitled to your opinion. Even the one that Johnsson sucks... I just disagree.

Oilers decline. Not in the business of taking on Toronto's Cap Dump, let alone giving away our second rounder again
