Relationship has to be very very very bad when Drouin (and his agent Allan Walsh who stirred the pot and made it worse) successfully forced Yzerman to trade him as a RFA.

It's all about cap space now. I guess if Hall is coming , MB will have to trade either Drouin or Tatar . Don't know if trading Byron would create enough space.

Are you sure he was forced? The only player to hold out on Detroit's roster was gone in under a year. If he was forced why did Montreal give up Sergachev?

He requested a trade from Tampa because he didn't think he had to play in AHL. Heck he didn't even show up at first. Then again, Yzerman didn't budge and let him earn a call up and progressively perform well to increase his value. Good asset management. Pretty much similar Duchene trade or Pacioretty trade.

Habs made a mistake for trading him knowing Sergachev was their only reliable LHD prospect at the time. Didn't even want to sign their other top D in Markov.

You are right when the trade was made Drouin was the better player hands down.
