I know this seems crazy, but Ottawa needs a RD, and they're willing to pay for it. Dougie likely won't stay next year, because Fleury will be ready for 2nd pair minutes and Pesce on the 1st line. So if they can get a solid return, and dump a bad contract, why not?

As for Ottawa, it's a steep price, but I'm sure they would love him. Him and Chabot become an elite pairing, with Sanderson and Brannstrom on the 2nd pairing. Ottawa will likely pay this price, as he is the best defenseman in the NHL right now. Even as a 1 year rental, that completely changes your team. Ottawa will also likely become a playoff team, so the 1st round pick will def not be a lottery or even a top 10.

No way Edmonton does that and the canes just need to resign dougie. There is 0 reason that’ the canes should not resign dougie the canes only have 2 rhd

Petr is not worth that much, even if extended at a super low AAV.

Fleury is great and all, but he is nowhere close to a replacement for Hamilton. We want to keep Hamilton.

The Arizona trade is fine by me, but I doubt Arizona does it.
