Hollands offseason plan trades w Buff Det Kings

Description
Okay...

So starting off with AA signing, Holland did not QO AA because if he did, we would have to pay him 3.3, so he left him hit the FA, gave AA a probe me contract with a cheap $, because he didnt have a great impact on the team til the playoffs but didnt score a single point.

Benning was sorta the same, Benning is arguably the best top 6 dman the oil have, and losing him is a big lost to the 3rd pair blue line, signing him for that price seems fair for both, because he also has his ups and downs

Trades now

Jujar khaira to buffalo because Sabres need centres and Khaira is a gritty 4c
Mostly because I dislike him on the team, Sabres dont mind losing that pick?

Next trade with LA, I already explained it in the details, but anyways Kings get Larsson, because they are rebuiling that defence, and adding a defensive defensemen who can play top 4 min will do good for em, and in return is Kempe and Lizotte. Kempe for McDavid cheap winger for a season or two, and lizotte as 4c

And Detroit trade, practically a salary dump for Chaisson, and adding Hass as a tad sweetner, since red wings have a lot of cap salary, they get a great player in chiasson again, and has a good depth centre

Signed bear to a 4 yr 2.5 mil because he only played one full corona season and tailed 21 pts, its good, and its best to get him long term like this, before he really breaks out and ask 5+ per aav

Markstrom signing, signed him to a 3 yr 5.675.000 aav, not sure if that will go through, but rumors is that Oilers are front runners for markstrom per elliot freidmen I believe...

Kassian and neal are just wasted overpay contracts, but neal can provide veteran presence and Kassian being a 3.2 mil 30 pts punching dude on the 3rd line RW lol

Sami V signs here to replace Larsson, who imo is better

Bouchard gets called up

Benson as well

Pizza man gets his ice time with McDavid or Draisaitl either one

Some people may laugh or get salty and call me dumb, I get it... some trades me be laughable, but give me your feedback

Detroit is going to pass. Haas isn’t a sweetener at 28, and Chiasson while he may help isn’t of interest for a 3rd round pick. Maybe a 5th if Yzerman likes what he brings off the ice too.

Habs fans will be glad he’s not going to Montreal in this AGM though lol

As a player with 1 year left on his deal, Larsson to LA only makes sense if LA can flip him for more at the deadline.

I don’t know how the games will be split between Koskinen and Markstrom, but it would be an interesting duo. Probably the tallest goalie tandem in the league too

Detroit has a bottom-3 PP so they should be interested in Chiasson, but they probably don't want to jinx the tank job. Better to trade him to a team that thinks they can make the playoffs and needs PP help: CBJ, NAS, NYI or MTL, for instance.

Here's why:

2019-20 Edmonton 5v4 on-ice
McDavid + Draisaitl with Chiasson: 15.45 GF/60
McDavid + Draisaitl w/o Chiasson: 10.24 GF/60

Alex Chiasson vaulted a top-3 PP into the top-3 all-time. He's one of the league's best net-front guys.

I really don't see Holland spending $10M+ on goaltending, he's already said that in fact. I think he's just in on the Markstrom negotiations to drive up the final price for CGY / VAN.

The issue isn't getting better with a mediocre player like chiasson, it's his cap hit vs his production in a flat cap. We have plenty of bottom 6 forwards already. If we are taking a cap hit from another team we will be getting compensated via draft picks or prospects. If not then that's fine and we stay the course with our rebuild and you can keep your cap hit. We are absolutely not trading away draft picks at this time, we are acquiring them per yzerman

Doubt Markstrom signs that cheaply in Edmonton you're looking at 5 x 6 for Jacob Markstrom, And it was already reported that Holland wouldn't carry both Koskinen and Markstrom if Markstrom were to sign with Edmonton then Koskinen gets moved pure and simple as that. I think it's either Vancouver or Calgary for Markstrom's service.

I hope you're right! My theory is that Holland is in on the Markstrom talks purely to drive up the price VAN or CGY ends up paying.

Yup if either Detroit or Edmonton are in on it, It's just merely to drive up the price that's all don't see him having interest in either club.

Exactly what I wrote: Detroit is the worst team ever and they have no interest in getting better. If Holland wants to trade Chiasson he should target a team that actually wants to win hockey games, because Detroit would rather have some late round magic beans.

I think this might be the dumbest comment in the history of this site. You have no idea how a rebuild works apparently

You said it yourself: Detroit doesn't want actual NHL players, they want dumps with picks. That's not what winning looks like.
