Stastny is rumoured to be coming to Winnipeg, trade will be announced today. So unfortunately, I don't think a Strome trade works.

Ahh fair enough! Question, how come NYR fans don't want to just keep Strome? It seems that majority want him gone but he had such a good season last year. Why not try him even on a short, 2 year deal so there isn't much risk involved if last year WAS an outlier.

my guess is if the Rangers can't sign Wennberg, they sign Strome to a 1 year, $5M deal.
Strome is a fine player but I believe the Rangers want more of a defensive two way 2C - Strome isn't much that.

As a fan, I wouldn't care if they keep him or trade him, but if they keep him I hope that it is a 2 year or less deal.

Rangers don't want to pay Strome the amount of money he wants and although he had good stats with Panarin I along with other Rangers fans are hoping Chytil can step into that 2c spot. But if he can't id want someone who can play 2nd or 3rd line center and that's not what Strome is. He would not be anywhere near as good on the third line so.
