If he's coming at max term, he's not signing an AAV for more than what Lehner got.

If he wants Lehner-AAV, it's a 4 or 5 year deal. At 7 years, I think he comes in at under $5M, but with a heavily front-loaded contract.

All reports suggest that Klefbom isn't going to play at all during the upcoming season. Dreger just confirmed that it will be a "very long time" before he returns. I think at this point it's safe to assume that the Oilers are going to have the additional $4M to work with.

I think Larsson is the piece that gets moved, and I think they hang onto Koskinen until Konovalov is ready. I think losing Klefbom for the year and this franchise's infatuation with the "workboots and lunch pail" mentality means Russell stays. I wouldn't get rid of Khaira just to get rid of him.



I'm not huge on the idea of spending $10M on two goaltenders either, but the Oilers were the 12th best team in the league without any respectable even-strength scoring and running Mike Smith as the starter. I think giving Edmonton a legitimate tandem easily pushes them into that upper echelon, and addressing the scoring makes them a threat to contend.
