Great mentor for Samsonov and this gives Lundqvist an opportunity to play 30+ games in a season. Good deal

Amazing signing for Washington. They just moved from Holtby at 6 mil to Lundqvist at 1.5. Even at his age, he's better than Holtby imo

I'm surprised he signed with a Metro team. Thought he'd go out west so he'd only have to play the Rangers a couple times (if that).

Expensive for a goalie coach, but he can also play, so I guess it works

You are buying the name and mentoring more than the on-ice production. Still, you can do way worse than Hank.

Makes sense. Washington is a better destination than one of the teams closer to New York. Don't think Ranger fans would've been too happy seeing him in Long Island or New Jersey.

If all he does is come in as a below average back up and mentor, this is still fine. If he's playing fewer than 35 games, maybe he can rebound a little, and it would be nice to see the caps with Henrik take another run at things.
