I don’t get it.

Whatever, nothing is still better than Simmonds IMO.

2 more years for the Rocket's captain!

Simmonds is better then Xavier because at least he's tough.

We made our moves before FA. Considering the amount of FA's still left, it's premature to send this.

Good deal for a player that can be a solid 7th or 8th defenseman or a great role model & leader for Laval. I’m surprised he didn’t get a one-way contract.

He got 450k in the AHL which is pretty high.

Getting nothing is better than getting a slow, aged Wayne Simmonds at $1.5 million (with a NMC!). And Ouellet is better than nothing, with a contract that’s lower than next year’s league minimum and can buried for no cap hit.

It is, but I think he showed enough in the playoffs to get paid like an NHL defenseman. He probably would’ve gotten a 1-way contract if he was a UFA.

Most likely, but he took 2 years because he'd rather play in his home province. Both sides win.

Lucic must be the best player in the league then.

He's embraced his 'tweener status, is a leader in the AHL and a fill in at the NHl level. Probably decided he liked living in Montreal and why not set down roots here. Probably also went for that economic security of a two year deal in these uncertain times.
