Congratulations Toronto - You made it so public on your needs that you get exactly what you wanted. At exactly the price everyone ELSE wanted.

Dubas was targetting this guy in the Kadri trade last year so it makes sense.

High cap hit for someone whose 30. Not ecstatic with this to be honest.

term isnt great but he is a good fit for the team. Add one more defensive RD and the team starts to look really solid

Good advanced numbers, but now Leafs have -1.7 Million in cap space and still have to resign Dermott and Mikheyev. Johnsson is gone and that likely still won't be enough. Good Luck Leafs

Fine deal, I'm surprised that's who Toronto went with. I'm sure Leafs fans will be unreasonably upset because he shoots right

Trust me, I prefer this over Tanev at that price.

Leafs want a RD and when Dubas gets one we all start grousing about the cap hit.

Typical Leafs fan reaction to anything.

Except they now are over the cap by 1.7 Million and still have to resign Mikheyev and Dermott

It's less money and term than I thought it would be, actually. Good deal in a vacuum.

They had no choice.

He's probably best suited to be a 2RD, but in TOR he's a 1RD and he'll get a pay bump from the 4 mil he probably should have got.

I don't know though for TOR. He's playing his off side. But he's use to it I guess.
At least they didn't get killed on term
