lineups as they stand right now

Description
first line: hopefully this line can return to its 2018 form. In order for this line to regain dominance, specifically Connor and Scheifele need to be quite a lot better in their own end.

2nd line: Obviously have to try it again. 27-25-29 has the opportunity to be the Jets best line this season if they play like they did in 2018.

3rd line: These three players played their best hockey when they were put together this season. I would really like to see the 3 of them put back together to see what they can do.

4th Line: this really isn't the "4th" line but this is rather a second third line. One that should be responsible defensively. Copp and Lowry always play good together reuniting the two should help Lowry rebound his play and to a certain extent Perrault as well.

Defensive pair 1: Jmo had a rough season last year no doubt. However there was an instant spark once Demelo was paired with him. It's a good idea to pair the two this year.

Defensive pair 2: Neal Pionk had a strong offensive season specifically on the powerplay last season, paring the other Minnesota Duluth Bulldog in Dylan Samberg should give them a somewhat stable second pairing.

Defensive pair 3: Nathan Beaulieu and Tucker Poolman showed flashes of being a nice bottom pairing last year, with the Jets resigning Beau, I see that pair being decnent again this year.

I like it. This is a good realistic thread.

One think I would add: beaulieu and poolman weren’t just good for flashes of playing together, they were one of the better 3rd parings in the league.

hmm I personally wouldn't go that far but they definitely weren't the main problems on the team last year.

Yeah I think this is pretty much how it’s gonna sort out unless we trade for a stop gap 2LHD. It’ll also be interesting to see how the bottom-six shakes out, Maurice might be inclined to go Copp-Lowry-Roslovic and then the other 3 on the 4th with Harkins at centre. Would prefer HRA and CLP though like it is here.

Also PP setup, I think we go back to Stastny in Connor’s position down low. He would win more faceoffs than Scheifele and honestly just fits better there than Connor. I think a Ehlers/Connor PP2 unit could be a great follow up.

Fair enough. I just think they added that side of nasty that the rest of the jets d-core lacked.

I think we start like this. Then, if need be, we trade for a top 4 d (I would go after a high end rd with term) at the tdl

Personally I thought the Jets best 3rd pair was Beaulieu-Sbisa.

I think the sample size was too small to judge that for me
