Yes, a late first in a bad draft and a 3rd liner should be close for the 2nd most valuable goalie in the NHL.

There's very little cap relief between Kuemper and Andersen, there will be far better offers for Kuemper than this proposal. Keep Andersen, Keep the 1st, Trade Johnsson for a pick. The fact you included Ottawa in this is indicative of the no bueno.

Go look at his actual stats. Last 2 years starter. 2+ if go back to when traded for late 3 seasons ago. 2.39 has, 9.23 s%, 36 gsaa. He's very good. Andersen's not. Unless get very lucky to catch one of his hot streaks. And even when hot he lets up easy goals. He and Kadri are solely responsible for last 3 playoff exists.

Kuemper has had Vezina votes in each of the past 2 years, despite missing most of this season with injury. And saying that he faltered in the playoffs is ridiculous. The Coyotes were looking dead against the best team in the west. He carried them on his back against Nashville, and it’s a miracle that he won them a game against the Avs. He’s a top 5 goalie in the league on one of the best contracts in the NHL.

1) Kuemper played behind : OEL, Hjalmarsson, Chychrun, Demers, Goligoski
1) Andersen played behind : Muzzin, Rielly, Barrie, Ceci, Holl, Dermott ( mediocre or below in their own end in BOLD )

2) One season of 55 games...check Andersens stats when he wasnt forced to play 66 of them behind a mediocre D, standing on the head most of the night......and then some more in Playoffs. Easy goals ? must be a tough job evaluating Goalie that gets 40+ shots per night and calling him out for letting soft Goals in...........from your Armchair.....

I hate to defend a habnots fan who clearly just likes trolling leafs fans, but he's not wrong. Kuemper is unarguably a top goalie. I'd say unarguably top 10 instead of 5, but who is definitely better? Hellybuk, Vasilevsky, Rask, Lehner, and? Whoever happens to be in net for Dallas or Islanders?

Go watch a leaf game. Andersen lets up weak, unscreened goals from outside the prime areas at least every other game. If Leafs have to keep him, I hope Campbell plays at least 40 games.

And the fact I have 1person say I'm massively overpaying for kuemper and one who says massively underpaying tells me I'm probably in the ballpark.

I don’t care about trolling Leafs fans, but I think it’s ridiculous when anyone underrates Kuemper.

A 1st and top 6 winger on a good contract is not undervalued. Johnsson had an injury year for sure, but not a bottom 6 winger on any team in the league. Like I said, might not be quite enough. But not getting a superstar for him. Add in a AAAA nonprospect or extra middle round pick.
